Headaches

Headaches are very common in the general population and sometimes may be associated with misalignment of the spine. They are often triggered by  bony or soft tissue structures impinging on the nerves and/or arteries in your spine from problems in the neck or shoulders. Trauma, stress, repetitive movements, posture, and many other things can cause these areas to become aggravated. Tension type and migraine headaches are two of the most common and are often successfully treated with chiropractic care. Medications for headaches often only treat the symptoms rather then the actual cause.

An exam will be performed to determine if your spine or surrounding soft tissue is causing your headaches. The exam will determine if chiropractic is a treatment option for you. Therapy and manipulation to achieve proper alignment of the spine and joint flexibility will be performed to sometimes provide the patient with almost instant relief. Manipulation for headaches can help improve blood flow, relieve nerve pressure, and reduce headaches. Therapy will allow the muscles to relax and also improve blood flow. At home recommendations will also be made to each patient to make the headaches less likely to occur. If you or someone you know is struggling with headaches or migraines call Pammer Chiropractic for help.
